"FES-Net-Source: History and Politics" is an online service maintained by the Library of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, one of the world's largest special research libraries with a collection of more than 1 mio media units. Its collection focuses on the history and development of the German and international labour movement and also supports research activities in the field of social and contemporary history due to its considerable holdings in theses subjects. A significant collection of primary literature from political parties and trade unions and selected countries complement the Library's collection of relevant secondary literature on these organisations. As a whole, the FES Library presents itself as an outstanding research library for social scientists, students and other people interested in these topics.

This "Net-Source" intends to enable the use and direct access of digital and retro-digitised publications and documents in selected subjects. It is ment as an extension to other services offered by the FES Library enabling the use of other digital documents. Many digital publications are already indexed in the Library's main catalogue. All digital FES publications are available in the Digital Library, and other digital titles are presented on different Internet pages of the FES Library. Among these, the still growing number of digitized periodicals is especially interesting for research activities in history and the social sciences. Publications that are not directly accessible in electronic form can be ordered with our interlibrary loan department and, under certain conditions, also as electronic copy. More information on this services is available here.

The "Net-Source" has been developed in the year 2001 and was continued until 2008. Due to this, some texts and also different links are certainly out of date now. Still, for someone interested in the subjects covered here the presented texts and publications are still relevant. The majority of the "Net-Sources" is presented in German language, though for a couple of topics you can also find English texts and introductions to the respective sections.

If not stated otherwise, the photos and other illustrations presented on the pages of "FES Net Source: History and Policy" are provided by the "Archiv der sozialden Demokratie" (AdsD) of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung.
Due to copy right restrictions most publications are presented without photos or illustrations.
The "FES-Net-Source: History and Politics" is ment only for private educational or research purposes. Any kind of commercial use is prohibited.
