TURKIYE KAMU-SEN

(TURKIYE KAMU CALISANLARI SENDIKALARI KONFEDERASYONU)
CONFEDERATION OF UNIONS OF PUBLIC EMPLOYEES OF TURKEY

The confederation was founded in Ankara in June 1992. In response to the class-based, leftist unionism concept of KESK and the affinity of Memur-Sen to Hak-Is, Türkiye Kamu-Sen adopted a policy of „state unionism".

The board elected at the congress held on June 22-23, 1997 is composed of Resul Akay (chairman), Suayip Özcan (general secretary), Mehmet Bayraktar, Selver Korkut, Ahmet Yasar.

TURK ASIM-SEN

(TURKIYE ASKERI ISYERLERINDE CALISAN SIVIL MEMURLAR SENDIKASI)
UNION OF CIVILIAN PUBLIC EMPLOYEES IN MILITARY WORKPLACES OF TURKEY

At the second general assembly of Asim-Sen, being an affiliate of KESK, a group of employee proposed to join Türkiye Kamu-Sen. After the refusal of their proposal they left Asim-Sen and founded TürkAsim-Sen in 1995. The union joined Türkiye Kamu-Sen in the same year.

The board elected at the last congress held in 1996, is composed of Kenan Demirtas (chairman), Özdemir Tasan, Ersin Cakir, Adnan Mermerci, Hasan Babaliogullu, Cemal Akkus, Sedat Önal, Süleyman Yigit.

The union has branches in Ankara, Kayseri, Konya, Sivas and Erzurum, but does not publish any periodical.

It reported 5,000 members in 1997.

TURK BANKA-SEN

UNION OF PUBLIC EMPLOYEES IN THE BANKING AND INSURANCE BRANCH OF TURKEY

The board elected at the last congress held in May 1997 is composed of Hanefi Coskun (chairman), Fikret Akdogan, Kemal Katar (general secretary), Ahmet Özden, Mehmet Günal, Sami Aksit, Necmettin Kara, Ismail Erkiran, Nezaket Dilek, Celal Yüksekkaya, Hüsniye Cosar, Sami Aksit.

It has 28 branches and 6,376 members in 1997.

TURK BURO-SEN

(TURKIYE BURO, TICARET, KULTUR VE MALIYE HIZMET ISKOLU KAMU CALISANLARI SENDIKASI)
UNION OF PUBLIC EMPLOYEES IN OFFICE, COMMERCE AND CULTURAL SERVICES BRANCH OF TURKEY

The board elected at the last congress held on May 18, 1997 is composed of Fahrettin Yokus (chairman), Tevfik Yüksel (deputy chairman), Bünyamin Polat (general secretary), Meryem Dinc (education secretary), Mehmet Tolon (public relations secretary), Veysel Erol (finance secretary), Ramazan Cenk (publications secretary), Hasan Sezer, Mehmet Gökduman, Ali Gök, Meryem Karaca and Mehmet Özdal. Ali Gök, Meryem Karaca and Veysel Erol resigned.

The union has 123 branches and 52,727 members, and publishes a monthly bulletin called „Türk Büro-Sen Bülten".

TURK EGITIM-SEN

UNION OF PUBLIC EMPLOYEES IN EDUCATION AND TRAINING BRANCH OF TURKEY

The board elected at the last congress held on June 2, 1997 is composed of Suayip Özcan (chairman), Seref Dilmen, Yasar Yenicerioglu, Mehmet Topalgöceli, Atilla Sahin and Ahmet Azizoglu.

The union has 359 branches and 196,732 members, and publishes periodical called „Bilgi Caginda Egitim".

TURK ENERJI-SEN

(TURKIYE ENERJI MADEN, METAL, PETROL VE KIMYA ISKOLU CALISANLARI SENDIKASI)
UNION OF ENERGY, MINE, METAL, PETROLEUM AND CHEMISTRY BRANCH EMPLOYEES OF TURKEY

Türk Petrol-Sen, Türk Maden-Sen and Türk Metal-Sen which were affiliates of Türkiye Kamu-Sen abolished themselves and joined Türk Enerji-Sen on June 18, 1994.

The board elected at the last congress held on May 25, 1997 is composed of Harun Önder (chairman), Ummihan Ertan, Nuri Kara, Ali Ulger, Bircan Akyildiz, Namik Kemal Osmanagaoglu, Ahmet Özcan, Bekir Gedikoglu, Zafer Koc, Zeki Ayhan and Kemal Bayrak.

The union has 66 branches and 21,000 members in 1997, and publishes a periodical called „Türk Enerji-Sen"

TURK GENEL HIZMET-SEN

UNION OF PUBLIC EMPLOYEES IN GENERAL SERVICES BRANCH OF TURKEY

The board elected at the last congress is composed of Selver Korkut (chairman), Orhan Karagöz and Mehmet Ali Baz (deputy chairman), Muzaffer Demirbas (general secretary), Bülent Celen (finance secretary), Metin Erdem (organization secretary), Celalettin Kayhan (education secretary), Mehmet Cengel (legislation secretary), Beyhan Altuntas (secretary of the chairman and public relations secretary), Fuat Erdem (collective bargaining secretary) and Mustafa Akarslan (social affairs secretary).

The union has 45 branches, and publishes a periodical called „Kamu Calisanlari Dergisi".

TURK HABER-SEN

(TURKIYE HABERLESME, KAGIT VE BASIN YAYIN ISKOLU KAMU CALISANLARI SENDIKASI)
UNION OF PUBLIC EMPLOYEES IN COMMUNICATIONS, PAPER PRESS AND PUBLISHING BRANCH OF TURKEY

The board elected at the last congress held on May 26, 1996 is composed of Resul Akay (chairman), Kamil Köse and Mustafa Sayaci (deputy chairman), Ergün Oral (general secretary), Ihsan Demir (organization secretary), Nurettin Ektepe (finance secretary), Ismail Celik (legislation secretary), Sükrü Erdem (education secretary), Ismet Saka (social affairs secretary) and Edip Asiler (collective bargaining secretary). After Ismet Saka had resigned Burhan Özkan took his position.

The union has 74 branches, 64 representatives and 35,000 members as of December 1997, and publishes a bulletin called „Türk Haber-Sen Bülten".

TURK IMAR-SEN

The board elected at the last congressheld on June 4, 1997 is composed of Ahmet Yasar (chairman), Emanet Olgun, Hüseyin Yildirim (deputy chairman), Tamer Yigit (general secretary), Bayram Zengin (organization secretary), Aslan Uzunsimsek (finance secretary), Ali Öksüz (education secretary), Mustafa Taymaz (legislation and collective bargaining secretary), Ismail Sak (presse secretary), Metin Erdog (social and foreign relations secretary), Ömer Gökcinar (judicial affairs secretary).

The union has 56 branches and 4,600 members, and publishes a periodical called „Kamu Calisanlari".

UNION OF HEALTH EMPLOYEES OF TURKEY

The board elected at last congress held on April 21, 1996 is composed of Mehmet Bayraktar (chairman), Osman Gazi Aksay, Durmus Akalin (general secretary), Ali Kansuna, Muhittin Cetin, Burhan Terzioglu, Harun Dikici, Aydin Yilmaz, Aslan Umitgiray. Later on, Aslan Umitgiray replaced by Ismet Hisar.

The union reported 92 branches and 80,000 members

TURK TARIM ORMAN-SEN

The board elected at the last congress is composed of Yücel Coskun (chairman), Yener Basar and Ismail Yetkin (deputy chairman), Ismet Aslan (general secretary), Nihat Karadeniz (finance secretary), Sadettin Yildirim (press and public relations secretary), Yüksel Bilgin (education secretary), Ahmet Tecer (organization secretary), Saban Tokan (legislation and judicial affairs secretary), Selim Kandemir (social affairs secretary) and Ahmet Demirci (collective bargaining secretary).

The union has 78 branches and 25,350 member as of December 1997.

The union has 36 branches and 18,700 members as of December 1997, and publishes a bulletin called „Ulasim".
