Zeitschriftendatenbank (ZDB)
[Union Catalogue of Serials]

The participation of our Library in the Zeitschriftendatenbank (ZDB) [Union Catalogue of Serials] dates back to 1986, when the periodicals inventories were made detectable via the ZDB until 1992 (the FES inventories) and 1996 (the DGB inventories). Due to this indexing, some truly unique periodicals inventories became available for research and science.

Since 1989, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Library has been supplying the Berlin-based ZDB with its periodicals inventories. The FES Library was the first library participating in the ZDB to classify its periodicals inventories by means of a self-developed classification system. A multitude of printed stock records and local specialised databases has emerged as a result of this cooperation.
