"Willy Brandt's Personal Bibliography" can now be used online as a data base.
In 1990, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Library published Willy Brandt's Personal Bibliography. This Personal Bibliography, however, does not contain a person and subject index. Therefore, the Federal Chancellor Willy Brandt Foundation (BWBS) compiled a comprehensive index in a project of its own.
Based on the title index of the Personal Bibliography's print version and on the indexes supplied by the BWBS, a data base was created which makes for improved access to titles thanks to hypertext links.
In the future, the data base is to be supplemented by titles which were published after the publication of the bibliography's printed version.
A plan for the next step is to expand the data base search by the full text indexes of Willy Brandt's contributions in both retro-digitized Social Democratic Press Release Services.
In December 2003, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation uploaded the online version of "Sozialistische Meldungen" (SM) ["Socialist Announcements"] to the Internet. The "SM" is the newsletter that was published in London by the SPD's leadership-in-exile from 1939 to 1948. The online version of the SM includes the newsletters themselves as well as more than 50 supplements that appeared with the newsletter. All documents are unabridged and fully annotated and contains detailed information concerning individuals and organizations mentioned in the text.
The "Chronik der deutschen Solzialdemokratie" ["Chronicle of German Social Democracy"], a standard work by Franz Osterroth and Dieter Schuster, and the "Chronologie der deutschen Gewerkschaftsbewegung von den Anfängen bis 1918" ["Chronology of the German Trade Union Movement from its beginnings until 1918"] (to be updated) by Dieter Schuster offer a chronological introduction to the history of the German labour and trade union movements.
The biographical lexicon contains the long version of the anniversary publication published in 1996 under the name "100 Jahre ÖTV. Bd. 2, Biographien" ("100 years of ÖTV, Volume 2, Biographies").
The omissions and abridgements effected in the printed version are to be made available to the public in the online edition.
