International Trade Union Organisations

Since the last third of the 19th century, the International Trade Secretariats (ITS) have constituted the global coalition of certain occupational groups and areas (e.g. metal workers, transport workers...) within the framework of the international Trade Union Movement.

The data base mostly lists the inventories of the International Trade Secretariats and the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions. Furthermore, users have the option to access the individual organisations' inventories by means of an organisational development overview.

The indexed inventories mainly come from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Library and from the International Institute of Social History (IISG), Amsterdam. This database is still being built up; it will be continuously expanded to list the inventories of other friendly institutions.
