Overview on the organizational development

Socialist Interafrican

The organization was established in February 1981 on the initiative of Habib Bourguiba and Léopold Sedar Senghor by social-democratic/socialist parties from Djibouti, Gambia, Ghana, Mauritius, Morocco, Senegal, Somalia, Sudan and Tunis while several other parties were present as observers.
The General Council of Socialist Interafrican held several meetings but no publications have been found. The work of the SIA seems to be continued in the SI Africa Committee.
No archival holdings are known.
